RESOLUTION NO. 2022 - 3;?t moi <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500.00 TOWARD THE <br />PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A BENCH IN THE BUTTERFLY GARDEN AT <br />GATEWAY PARK; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, in April of 2004, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") entered into a sister city <br />relationship with Netanya, Israel ("Netanya"); and <br />WHEREAS, in June of 2013, the City entered into a sister city relationship with Henchung, <br />Taiwan ("Henchung"); and <br />WHEREAS, in December of 2019, the City dedicated a park bench in honor of its <br />relationship with sister city Netanya; and <br />WHEREAS, Eric Lictenstein, a longtime resident of the City, wishes to make a monetary <br />donation to be used toward the dedication of a park bench at the Butterfly Garden at Gateway <br />Park in honor of the City's relationship with sister city Henchung; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission now wishes to accept a monetary donation in the amount <br />of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Acceptance of Donation. The City Commission hereby accepts a monetary donation <br />in the amount of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00) to be used toward the <br />dedication of a park bench at the Butterfly Garden at Gateway Park in honor of the City's <br />relationship with sister city Henchung, Taiwan. <br />Section 2. Effective Date.
