<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach |Request for Qualifications No. 21-10-01 16 <br /> <br />7. Organize and assist in obtaining public and community comments and/or information, as <br />mutually agreed upon between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and the Consultant. <br /> <br />3.2 BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The Sunny Isles Beach Government Center opened in January 2005 and is located at 18070 Collins <br />Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160. City Hall is a 4-story, 54,000 square foot edifice and includes <br />a satellite branch of the United States Post Office along with Miami-Dade County Sunny Isles Beach <br />branch library. The first floor is completed with a Visitor Center, supported by the Sunny Isles <br />Beach Tourism and Marketing Council. The second floor and a portion of the third floor houses the <br />Sunny Isles Beach Police Department, which is open 24/7. Building & Development, Code <br />Compliance, Planning & Zoning and IT are located on the remainder of the third floor and the <br />fourth floor holds the City Commission along with the City’s management, human resources and <br />finance departments. <br /> <br />The Public Safety Department encompasses Police and Ocean Rescue. Fire Rescue services are <br />provided by Miami-Dade County. There are two public entrances to the Police Department, <br />elevators from the lobby that lead to the second floor and through the 2nd level of the parking <br />garage. During after hours, the police department can only be accessed via the 2nd level of the <br />parking garage. It is the City’s intent to increase the visibility and accessibility of the Police <br />Department to its residents and visitors, especially during weekend and evening hours when City <br />Government operations are closed. <br /> <br />3.3 LOCATIONS OF ASSESSMENT <br /> Please see Exhibit A for the Site Plan of Government Center <br /> <br />• 18070 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 (City Hall – Tract “C”) <br />• 18080 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 (Vacant lot North of City Hall – Tract “A” & <br />“B”) <br />• 18050 Collins Ave, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 (1 Story Building South of City Hall – Tract <br />“D”) <br /> <br />3.4 REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONSULTANTS <br /> <br />Consultants interested in performing these services must exhibit considerable relevant experience <br />with this type of work, specifically experience and capabilities in design and construction of law <br />enforcement and public safety facilities, and should emphasize both experience and capability of <br />particular personnel who will actually perform the work. <br /> <br />The respondent shall agree to indemnify and hold harmless and pay on behalf of the City, for any <br />liability and/or legal costs arising out of any claims and litigation related to the services provided, <br />to the extent caused by the negligence recklessness, or intentionally wrongful conduct of the <br />respondent in the performance of the contracted services. <br /> <br />3.5 CONTRACTED SERVICES <br />
