UrUIYM qU.1 F"VIML 1VUMULn <br />CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH MATTHEW ZELLER, CAPTAIN (561) 742 - 6104 <br />The new 58,000-SF, two-story police headquarters houses the Chief and <br />administrative offices suite, professional standards, detectives bureau, <br />narcotics, special victims unit, uniformed services division, K-9 unit, crime scene <br />investigative services, evidence, crime prevention, technical / IT services, training, <br />facility support (lockers and physical agility), records, and public access areas <br />which includes a shared lobby and large community room. Included onsite is a <br />4,800-SF detached vehicle storage building. <br />Conceptually, the new headquarters forms a public safety neighborhood center <br />with the existing Fire Rescue Station No. 5 through the use of shared public site <br />access and public parking, as well as a landscaped entry plaza and pedestrian link <br />connecting the public lobbies of both buildings. The staff entry and parking are to <br />the north and east of the new headquarters behind security walls and gated entry <br />/ exit to separate private from public. The headquarters floor plan is organized <br />from the most public areas (entry plaza and community room) to the most private <br />or secured areas (crime scene investigative services and evidence) separated by <br />a two-story semi -private / secure block. The semi -private / secure block houses <br />all the administrative services, records, detective's offices, uniformed services <br />offices, and interview rooms. <br />The construction of the facility utilizes tilt -up concrete panel with textured <br />coating for cost savings and storefront glazing, and keystone coral accents for a <br />modern Mediterranean feel.
