City of Sunny Isles Beach |Invitation to Bid No. 22-05-01 11 <br />that the references must be for the same projects in response to MQR “b” above. <br />d.The City of Sunny Isles Beach shall require that every Bidder furnish a Bid Bond in the <br />amount of 10% of the total bid price. A bidder shall forfeit the Security Bid Bond if the <br />Firm refuses or fails to execute the Agreement within fifteen (15) calendar days from <br />the Notice to Proceed. <br />2.3 NON-MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING FOLLOWED BY NON-MANDATORY SITE-VISIT <br />2.4 <br />2.5 <br />A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Sunny <br />Isles Beach Government Center located at 18070 Collins Avenue Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160, First <br />Floor Conference Room, to discuss the special conditions and specifications included within this <br />solicitation. Proposers are requested to bring this solicitation document to the conference, as <br />additional copies may not be available. A site walk-thru will be conducted immediately following <br />the pre-bid conference to allow bidders to gain familiarity with the site and the existing <br />infrastructure. It is strongly encouraged that Firms interested in proposing to this ITB attend the <br />Pre-Bid Meeting as a tool to be successful in responding to the City’s project <br />TERM <br />The resultant contract will commence upon execution by both parties which shall be the effective <br />date succeeding approval of the contract by the City Commission. Prior to initiating the <br />performance of any services under this Agreement, Contractor must receive a written Notice to <br />Proceed from the City Manager and/or the City Engineer. The work shall be substantially <br />completed within three-hundred and five (305) calendar days from the Project initiation <br />specified in the Notice to Proceed and final completion within three-hundred and sixty-five <br />(365) calendar days from Project date specified in the Notice to Proceed. The total three hundred <br />and sixty-five (365) calendar days include weekend days and holidays. <br />Failure to complete all the work within the time specified above, including any extension granted <br />in writing by the City, shall obligate the Contractor to pay the City, as liquidated damages and not <br />as a penalty, an amount equal to Five Hundred Dollars ($500) for each calendar day of delay in <br />the completion of all the work. If any liquidated damages are unpaid by the Contractor, the City <br />shall be entitled to deduct these unpaid liquidated damages from the monies due the Contractor. <br />METHOD OF AWARD <br />The term “lowest responsible and responsive Bidder” as used herein shall mean the Bidder whose <br />bid is the lowest of those Bidders possessing the skill, ability and integrity necessary for the faithful <br />performance of the work, whose bid best serves the interests of and represents the best value to <br />the City, as determined by the City Commission and/or the City Manager.
