c,rp 4f sW a4
TO:
VIA:
FROM:
DATE:
RE:
City of Sunny Isles Beach
18070 Collins Avenue
Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160
(305) 947-0606 City Hall
(305) 949-3113 Fax
MEMORANDUM
Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners
Stan Morris, City Manager
Susan Simpson, Deputy City Manager
May 19, 2022
Approval of an Agreement with AECOM Technical Services to Develop
Parks and Recreation Master Plan
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
The City currently operates 11 parks with up to 4 more parcels becoming available in the next few
years. As the City has grown and demographics have changed, the needs of the community have
evolved. To properly plan for the next 5, 10, and 15 years, it is recommended to research, survey and
provide a roadmap for planning and programming of our existing and future park space through the
development of a Parks and Recreation Master Plan (Plan). As such, the City Commission approved
the Plan through the budget process.
AECOM has extensive experience in developing Plans using the latest technology to get the most inpu
from our residents and was highly recommended by other communities such as the City of Miami and
the City of Coral Gables. The City of Miami issued RFQ 501331 and awarded an agreement to AECOI
for these services and therefore is eligible to piggyback.
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the agreement with AECOM Technical Service -
Inc. in an amount not to exceed $165,000, with a base fee of $149,795.00 for the services and a
contingency of $15,205.00, to conduct thorough research, surveys and development of a Plan for the
City.
Item Number: 102
637
