Responsible for quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC) of construction documents and construction administration services such as
submittal review and tagging of plant material. As proposed, the Worldcenter will create a vibrant,
walkable pedestrian environment with a unique sense of place for retail, residential, office, and
institutional uses. Kimley-Horn partnered with a private developer, the City of Miami, the Miami
Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), and other stakeholders in preparing typical sections
for streetscapes for this downtown project. Kimley-Horn also partnered with a number of utility
companies to determine existing underground conditions. Once this information was obtained, we
worked with multiple stakeholders to develop and evaluate various streetscape options for roads
and avenues within the multi-block project limits.
Fort Lauderdale Downtown Mobility Hub Streetscape, Fort Lauderdale, FL — Landscape
architect for Kimley-Horn’s design services under a continuing services contract. Responsible
for schematic design studies for multi-modal ROW corridors. Kimley-Horn is providing
landscape architecture design, planning, traffic engineering, and civil engineering services
for the revitalization of the existing streetscape in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. The goal is to
create a pedestrian-friendly environment by adding walk/bike lanes and creating separation
between traffic and pedestrian spaces—this includes adjusting lane lengths and altering bus
lanes. Kimley-Horn is coordinating with various stakeholders (Broward County, Broward County
Transportation, Sun Trolley, Brightline Rail) and prepared workshop-style presentations for several
streetscape options.
Biscayne Green, Miami, FL — Project management and design team. Working with the Miami
Parking Authority and in collaboration with the Miami Downtown Development Authority, Kimley-
Horn is actively developing a long-term vision for the redesign of a portion of Biscayne Boulevard
in downtown Miami. The segment of Biscayne Boulevard between SE 1st Street and NE 6th Street
will be transformed from parking lots and travel lanes into a dynamic linear park and promenade
linking downtown and Bayfront Park. The intent is to narrow the vehicular corridor along this
stretch from 8 lanes to 4 lanes of traffic and remove the NE 1st and 4th Streets intersections to
increase connectivity and meet the transportation needs of all street users in a safe and enjoyable
manner. Throughout the visioning process, from information gathering and consensus building to
program planning, the Kimley-Horn team engaged the public as well as advisory and stakeholder
committees to inform the design.
Grove Central Station, a Transit-Oriented Development, Miami, FL — Landscape architect
for this mixed-use transit-oriented, urban development consisting of retail and residential use.
Kimley-Horn is providing civil engineering services for the on-site and off-site components of the
project. The project entails the redevelopment of an existing surface parking lot serving the Grove
Metrorail Station in Miami, Florida into a multi-tenant retail facility and apartment building. As
part of the Miami-Dade County Rapid Transit Zone, this project requires close coordination with
the Miami-Dade Department of Transit and Public Works to ensure connectivity of buses, rail,
bicycles, and pedestrians is enhanced.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Has more than 17 years in
landscape architecture.
• Extensive technical experience
in grading and planting design,
drainage, soils, stormwater
management, detailing, and
installation of oceanfront
landscapes over structure
PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS
• Bachelor, Landscape
Architecture with Honors,
Pennsylvania State University,
2005
• Professional Landscape
Architect in Florida,
#LA6667406, November 16,
2019
• Professional Landscape
Architect in Florida, New York,
New Jersey, and Washington
• Council of Landscape
Architectural Registration
Boards (CLARB) Certified
Professional
MATTHEW WISNIEWSKI, PLA
Quality Assurance/Quality Control; Landscape Architecture/Site
Master Planning/Active and Passive Park Design/ Streetscape
Planning and Design
