The playground is centered on a 5’ earth mound with
boulder climbing areas, utilizing local Miami oolite, and an embankment slide. The design also includes a log
climbing structure constructed of recovered cypress sinker logs from central Florida. Extensive landscaping
throughout the site emphasizes native trees and plants. Several large specimen live oaks and gumbo limbos were
added to the site to give it a forested feel, providing shade and connecting the playground with nature.
Landscape DE
LandscapeDE
Relevant Project Experience
North Miami Dade, Florida
Biscayne Shores and Gardens Park
Play Area Plan
Explorer Dome Climber and New Planting Picnic Shelter with Native Oolite Stone Columns
Central Earth Mound with New Multi-trunk Oak and Native Planting
