(CGA) Landscape Architecture Department was
contracted by The City of Tamarac's Public Services Division to implement a $100,000.00
grant from FDOT for the renovation of nearly five (5) miles of medians along Commercial Blvd.
This project included the evaluation of the existing landscaping in the medians, preservation
of trees and shrubs that were doing well, and the removal and replacement of materials doing
poorly with entirely new plants. The existing irrigation system was completely upgraded in all
areas, and was extended into two new medians. CCA's Landscape Architecture staff prepared
all construction drawings to meet FDOT's standards and requirements, and obtained the
approval of the design within a billboard view corridor, as well as a design variation in order to
preserve several large, existing trees. The design of the project included some new Medjool
Date Palms, added some much-needed color to the medians, and improved sight visibility at
several intersections. Construction of these improvements was completed in April 2019.
L, City of Sunny Isles Beach ( RFQ #22-06-01 1 Continuing Services for Landscape Architectural Services CCNA 26
