$•� fl)f F���y\ ,y0 <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager <br />FROM: Audra Curts-Whann, Assistant City Manager <br />DATE: July 28, 2022 <br />RE: Acceptance of Resilient Florida Program Grant Award for Central Island Are; <br />Drainage Project <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />The City has been included in the Fiscal Year 2021 - 2022 Resilient Florida Program Grant Awards fo <br />Implementation Projects, from the Department of Environmental Protection's Office of Resilience an( <br />Coastal Protection Resilient Florida Program (Program) funded by the Coronavirus State and Loco <br />Fiscal Recovery Funds. The Project funded under this grant award is for the Central Island Area Puml <br />Stations and the Drainage Improvements that includes the area north of 174th Street to 183rd Street <br />and Atlantic Avenue to North Bay Road. <br />Funding for the project will be provided through a cost -reimbursement grant agreement between the <br />Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the City. The estimated total cost for the projec, <br />is $4,000,000 with the grant requiring at least a 50% local match by the City. Therefore, the City is <br />responsible for providing a local match amount of $2,000,000.00 towards the project funded under <br />this grant. All work is subject to approval by the Department of Environmental Protection, and only <br />eligible activities will be reimbursed by the Program under the grant agreement once fully executed <br />and must be completed by the agreement expiration date. <br />To expedite the grant agreement process, the City recommends the acceptance of this grant award <br />and authorizing the City Manager to enter into the grant agreement. <br />Item Number: 4.0 <br />
