ARTICLE 11 SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND ZIPPER CLAUSE Section 1. Should any provision of this collective bargaining agreement, or any part thereof, be rendered or declared invalid by reason of any existing or subsequently enacted state or federal law, or by any decree of a court of competent jurisdiction, all other articles and sections of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect for the duration of this Agreement. The parties agree to immediately meet and confer concerning any invalidated provision(s). Section 2. The parties acknowledge that during the negotiations which resulted in this Agreement, each had the unlimited right and opportunity to make demands and proposals with respect to any subject or matter not removed by law from the area of collective bargaining and that the understanding and agreement arrived at by the parties after the exercise of that right and opportunity are set forth in this Agreement. Therefore, the City and the Union, for the life of this Agreement, each voluntarily and unqualifiedly waives the right and each agrees that the other shall not be obligated to bargain collectively with respect to any subject or matter referred to or covered by this Agreement and with respect to any subject or matter not specifically referred to or covered in this Agreement, even though such subject or matter may not have been within the knowledge and -contemplation of either or both of the parties at the time they negotiated or signed this Agreement. Except as provided by Article 12 hereof, this Agreement contains the entire Agreement of the parties on all matters relative to wages, hours, terms and conditions of employment as well as all other matters, which were or could have been negotiated prior to the execution of this Agreement. This Section does not prohibit the parties from entering into negotiations concerning the terms of a successor Agreement. -14-
