ARTICLE 29 <br />COURT TIME <br />Section 1. Bargaining unit employees shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours overtime <br />at one and one-half (1 1/2) times their regular rate for necessary off-duty work related to court <br />appearances required by court order or quasi-judicial and administrative hearings, concerning <br />pending criminal, civil or traffic cases. To be eligible, an employee must be called back to work at a <br />time outside his/her normal working hours, and at least four (4) hours before the beginning of the shift <br />and one (1) hour after the end of the shift. Pay for witness fees shall be returned to the City. <br />Employees may be permitted to accrue compensatory time for off-duty court appearances in lieu of <br />cash payments. <br />-39- <br />
