Parker, Building Official <br />DATE: October 20, 2022 <br />RE: Authorization for the Purchase of 4 Ford Escape Hybrids from Duval Ford <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />Due to high demand for hybrid vehicles as well as supply chain issues, we are requesting the City <br />Commission to authorize the expenditure of funds, adequately budgeted in the Building Department'! <br />budget, for the purchase of 4 Ford Escape Hybrid vehicles, in an amount not to exceed $140,000. <br />Currently, Ford has a very narrow ordering period of time and due to such constraints, the department <br />was unable to secure the purchase of the 2023 models. By obtaining the Commission's approval, our <br />department will be able to request the issuance of the PO to secure the purchase for the 2024 models, <br />as soon as the option becomes available. <br />The vehicles will be purchased utilizing the Florida Sheriff's Association Light Vehicle Contract (FSA2C <br />VEL28.0). <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br />Building Department Capital Outlay Vehicles 140-4-5150-464200-00000 - Not to exceed $140,000.00 <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution <br />Item Number: 10.1) <br />
