RESOLUTION NO. 2022 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, RATIFYING A PURCHASE ORDER AND THE EXPENDITURE OF <br />BUDGETED FUNDS WITH ANIXTER INC. FOR EMERGENCY STREET LIGHT <br />REPAIRS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-SEVEN THOUSAND SIX <br />HUNDRED SEVENTY-ONE DOLLARS AND FIVE CENTS ($57,671.05), ATTACHED <br />HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, staff of the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") found issues with several street <br />light poles on Collins Avenue as a result of the type of transformers utilized during the <br />installation of the decorative lighting improvements along Collins Avenue; and <br />WHEREAS, upon careful consideration and a professional review, the City Manager <br />determined that the condition of the street light poles constituted a life safety issue, and <br />authorized the issuance of a purchase order to Anixter Inc. ("Contractor") for electrical supplies <br />and conductors, necessary to perform the emergency repairs; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-13 (D) of the City's Code of Ordinances, purchases <br />arising out of or because of emergencies are exempt from the City's competitive bidding <br />requirements; and <br />WHEREAS, Anixter Inc. submitted a quote in in the amount of $57,671.05 to furnish <br />and deliver electrical supplies and conductors, which are necessary to perform the emergency <br />repairs to the City's street lights; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to ratify the expenditure of budgeted funds with <br />Anixter Inc. for electrical supplies and conductors, necessary to perform emergency repairs to <br />the City's street lights, in an amount not to exceed Fifty -Seven Thousand Six Hundred Seventy - <br />One Dollars and Five Cents ($57,671.05), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Ratification of a Purchase Order and the Expenditure of Funds. The City <br />Commission hereby ratifies the issuance of a Purchase Order and expenditure of budgeted <br />funds with Anixter Inc. for emergency repairs to the City's street lights, in an amount not to <br />exceed Fifty -Seven Thousand Six Hundred Seventy -One Dollars and Five Cents ($57,671.05), <br />attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to <br />execute said Agreement, and to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
