RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - ' 2- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE WAIVER OF THE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS OF CHAPTER 62 OF THE CITY'S CODE OF ORDINANCES; RATIFYING THE PURCHASE OF A CERTIFIED 2021 FORD PASSENGER VAN TRANSIT XLT FROM MIDWAY FORD, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED NINETEEN DOLLARS AND TWENTY CENTS ($55,619.20), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Public Works Department of the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") was in need of purchasing a passenger bus to ensure the City provided essential transportation services to its residents and visitors; and WHEREAS, City staff obtained a quote from Midway Ford ("Vendor") for the purchase of a certified used 2021 Ford Passenger Van Transit XL ("Bus"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-12 City's Code of Ordinances the City Commission may waive the competitive bidding requirements upon the City Manager's recommendation that it is in the City's best interest to do so; and WHEREAS, due to market volatility and supply chain issues, the City Manager determined that it was in the best interest of the City to forego the competitive bidding procedures for the purchase of the Bus, and made said purchase; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to ratify the waiver of the bidding requirements of Chapter 62 of the City's Code, and ratify the purchase of a certified used 2021 Ford Passenger Van Transit XL, in an amount not to exceed Fifty -Five Thousand Six Hundred Nineteen Dollars and Twenty Cents ($55,619.20), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Waiver of Bidding Requirements. The City Commission hereby ratifies the waiver of the bidding requirements set forth in Chapter 62 of the City's Code of Ordinances for the purchase of a certified used 2021 Ford Passenger Van Transit XL. Section 2. Ratification of Purchase. The City Commission hereby ratifies the purchase of a certified used 2021 Ford Passenger Van Transit XL, in an amount not to exceed Fifty -Five Thousand Six Hundred Nineteen Dollars and Twenty Cents ($55,619.20), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 3. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 4. Effective Date.
