RESOLUTION NO. 2014- �! <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH SAFEWARE, INC. TO INSTALL AND <br />MAINTAIN PHASE I OF A CITYWIDE SECURITY CLOSED <br />CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) SYSTEM, IN AN AMOUNT <br />NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION TWO HUNDRED THIRTY - <br />SEVEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY -FIVE <br />DOLLARS AND EIGHTY CENTS (51,237,755.80), IN <br />SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME FORM ATTACHED HERETO <br />AS EXHIBIT "A'; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER AND THE CITY ATTORNEY TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS <br />RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the installation of a Cit }wide Security Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) <br />System would provide the Police Department with 24- hour /7 -days a week surveillance of the City's <br />ten (10) Parks and locations throughout the Cite, in addition to the invaluable archival data of up to <br />thirty (30) days for investigative purposes; and <br />NVHEREAS, the Police Department and the Information Technology Department have <br />worked closely with a Cite contracted security consultant to design an optimal security layout plan for <br />each location: and <br />WHEREAS, Safeware; Inc. has provided a proposal for these services in an amount of <br />S 1,032,391.49, plus Project Permit Fees S 17.800.00, Bonding Fees $26;117.90; vendor contingency <br />S79.835.00. and the Cite has added an additional contingency amount of S81.611.41 (15 %) for any <br />unforeseen additions not listed in the proposed scope of work. in a total amount of S1.237.755.80; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Safeware, Inc. is qualified, willing and able to provide the desired services; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve an Agreement with Safeware. Inc.. for <br />installation and maintenance of Phase I of a Citywide Security Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) <br />System, in an amount not to exceed One Million Two Hundred Thirty -Seven Thousand Seven <br />Hundred Fifty -Five Dollars and Eighty Cents (S1,237.755.80). in substantially the same form <br />attached hereto as Exhibit "A ". through the US Communities Government Contract titled: <br />"Homeland Security & Public Safety/Emergenev Preparedness" Contract 94400001839. with funding <br />through the DOJ Federal Forfeiture Fund. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1.
