City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager <br />FROM: Rick Labinsky, P.E., City Engineer <br />DATE: May 18, 2023 <br />RE: Agreement with The Stout Group LLC. to construct the East End of 172nc <br />Street Roadway and Drainage Improvements <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to construct roadway and drainage improvements to the East End <br />of 172nd Street to eliminate the flooding from king tides and to improve the drainage of the roadway. <br />The project includes drainage pipe upgrades, raising the road and inlets 1 foot, reconstruction of the <br />town center park parking lot to remove trip hazards, reconstruction of the sidewalks and curbs and <br />harmonizing with adjacent properties. <br />On February 22, 2023, the City of Sunny Isles Beach issued Invitation to Bid No. 23-02-01 titled 172ni <br />Street Roadway on DemandStar. On March 13, 2023, the city held a non -mandatory pre-bid meeting <br />in which three (3) interested bidders attended. The following four (4) bids were received: Team <br />Contracting; Florida Blacktop, Inc.; Basile USA, LLC; and The Stout Group. Upon thorough evaluation <br />the bids following the guidelines published in the solicitation, it is recommended to award and enter <br />into an agreement with The Stout Group, LLC. who was determined to be the lowest responsible an( <br />responsive bidder. The Agreement is for the base bid amount of $384,241.00, plus a contingency in <br />the amount of $38,424.10, for a total contract amount not to exceed $422,665.10. <br />Upon approval of this Resolution, The Stout Group, LLC. will be issued a Notice -to -Proceed for thi <br />subject services, provided all insurance and bonding requirements are in place prior to <br />commencement of the project. <br />Item Number: 10.E <br />
