REASONS: The City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to construct roadway and drainage improvements to the East End of 172nd Street to eliminate the flooding from king tides and to improve the drainage of the roadway. The project includes drainage pipe upgrades, raising the road and inlets 1 foot, reconstruction of the town center park parking lot to remove trip hazards, reconstruction of the sidewalks and curbs and harmonizing with adjacent properties. On February 22, 2023, the City of Sunny Isles Beach issued Invitation to Bid No. 23-02-01 titled 172ni Street Roadway on DemandStar. On March 13, 2023, the city held a non -mandatory pre-bid meeting in which three (3) interested bidders attended. The following four (4) bids were received: Team Contracting; Florida Blacktop, Inc.; Basile USA, LLC; and The Stout Group. Upon thorough evaluation the bids following the guidelines published in the solicitation, it is recommended to award and enter into an agreement with The Stout Group, LLC. who was determined to be the lowest responsible an( responsive bidder. The Agreement is for the base bid amount of $384,241.00, plus a contingency in the amount of $38,424.10, for a total contract amount not to exceed $422,665.10. Upon approval of this Resolution, The Stout Group, LLC. will be issued a Notice -to -Proceed for thi subject services, provided all insurance and bonding requirements are in place prior to commencement of the project.
