BOCKWEG <br />1 �nvlicr Dirmlu <br />The City of Miami Omni Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) last year selected and retained <br />Bermello Ajamil & Partners, Inc. (B &A) via a competitive vetting process as the Design Criteria <br />Consultant for the Miami Media and Entertainment Complex (MEC). The MEC is an 85,000 SF facility <br />owned by the Omni -CRA with an estimated redevelopment budget of $11,000.000. <br />B &A's services proved invaluable as our agency developed a Design Criteria Package to accompany a <br />future advertisement soliciting design - build- operator proposals. The B &A team was instrumental in <br />helping to define and document our vision for a state -of- the -art production complex and the criteria for <br />the redevelopment of the existing building and site. Their Design Criteria services were comprehensive <br />and included: architectural and engineering technical services; evaluating the existing structure and <br />historical research; programming; code analysis; public involvement and community outreach workshops; <br />conducting steering committee charrettes: assistance in drafting the design - build - operate request for <br />proposal (RFP); and evaluating design - build - operate UP responses. <br />The Miami Media and Entertainment Complex is highly anticipated within the community and an integral <br />pan of the ongoing transformation of the Omni -CRA District. In addition to the unique technical <br />qualifications necessary for this commission, the MEC Design Criteria Package required a team able to <br />adhere to rigorous schedules and perform under the close scrutiny of the community.
