0 <br />O <br />0 <br />0 <br />0 <br />O <br />11 <br />s <br />O <br />O <br />B <br />• <br />B <br />• <br />• <br />0 <br />e <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />SUBCONSULTANTS E SCIENCES <br />United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Environmental Documentation <br />and Area -wide Floodplain Management Eight-Step Decision - Making Process: To enhance the quality <br />of life in our neighborhoods, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission has established four Community <br />Investment Programs: the Neighborhood Community Investment Program (NCIP), the Neighborhood <br />Community Investment Grant Program (NCIGP), the Business Community Investment Program (BCIP), and <br />the Business Community Investment Grant Program (BCIGP). The goal of these programs is to provide <br />matching grant funds for the construction of community improvements in the City's right-of -ways that <br />beautify neighborhoods and enhance the quality of fife for those who live, work, and visit the City of Fort <br />Lauderdale. The majority of individual actions considered for these projects include the following: street <br />name decorative posts, entryway monuments, entryway signs, concrete curbing, swales, sidewalks, median <br />islands, decorative lighting, solar decorative lighting, landscape lighting, trees, landscaping, and irrigation. <br />E Sciences has prepared numerous environmental documentation packages to support HUD funding for the <br />City of Fort Lauderdale's neighborhood improvement projects. The majority of these involved the <br />preparation of Environmental Checklists in compliance with HUD regulations. E Sciences also prepared an <br />Area wide Floodplain Management Eight -Step Decision- Making Process for them to utilize when projects <br />are located within a I00-year floodplain as defined by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. <br />Progresso Village Neighborhood: E Sciences conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment <br />(ESA) for the City's Neighborhood Services group in order to support application for federal funding for <br />decorative entranceway signs. <br />Hortt Elementary: E Sciences conducted a Phase I and Phase II ESA for the City to support their purchase <br />of this school property intended for redevelopment as a neighborhood park. This property was initially <br />developed by Mr. MA. Hortt who was one of the early Fort Lauderdale settlers. The project was expedited <br />to meet the constraints of contract timing. <br />Twin Lakes: E Sciences conducted a Phase I ESA and asbestos survey to support the Cqs purchase and <br />redevelopment of this residence as a park. <br />Fort Lauderdale Low Level Bridges: E Sciences provided asbestos surveys in anticipation of demolition <br />and reconstruction of three low level neighborhood bridges for the City: The Harborage, Marcetta River, and <br />Carlotta River. These reports met the requirements for FDOT, as FDOT was providing funding for this <br />project. <br />Fire Station tl46: E Sciences was contracted with the City to provide an indoor air quality survey to evaluate <br />comfort- related issues posed by building occupants regarding indoor air quality. The scope of services <br />included a walkthrough of the building; interviews with building occupants; observations of the air <br />conditioning systems; measurements for temperature, relative humidity, carbon monoxide, and carbon <br />dioxide in each building area; and moisture readings in areas where either visible indications of moisture <br />impact were noted or that were reported by building occupants. <br />Sailboat Bend Preserve: E Sciences was hired by the City to conduct a Phase I and II ESA of vacant <br />property being designated for use as recreational space and installation of a 'tot lot'. The property is <br />adjacent to the City's public works and police department complex. No environmental concerns were <br />identified. <br />Parcel Located at 538 NW 9th Avenue: E Sciences was engaged by the City's CRA to conduct a Phase I <br />ESA of this property, located across the street from the CRA building.
