0 <br />R.E. Chisholm Architects, Inc. is working with the Cuban Exile History Museum Committee in Miami, Florida, since 2010. The project <br />construction cost is budgeted at S 120NI <br />Program Requirements: <br />Program need -driven by 1,000 — 1,500 auto parking to serve existing arena, new museum and neighboring activities. Adjacent bay <br />precludes underground parking. Museum above parking, Baywalk and pedestrian activity validates bay adjacency. <br />• 90,000 sf (A/C) Museum, Research Library / Learning Center. 3 stories over I parking levels. <br />• Theater ( 300 seats) <br />• Restaurant <br />• <br />Entry Lobby / Gift Shop /Visitor Center <br />Exhibits / 40.000 sf <br />• <br />Parking/ 300 spaces <br />Library <br />• Pedestrian Plaza <br />Landscaped pedestrian plaza, adjacent to bay, receives visitors above parking, creating a friendly environment complimenting retail uses. <br />Automated skybridge links project to arena providing pedestrian access to both venues. The Museum Cafe offers terrace dining, bay views <br />and relates to Baywalk. Service areas located in parking structure minimize impact to pedestrian / vehicular circulation. <br />• Building components angled and aligned in direction of historical sites to capture symbolic views of city and foreign locations. <br />• Building becomes a symbolic exhibit using motif numbers 1, 3 and 6, historic colors, Floor pattems of historical sienificance. <br />architectural elements related to literature and poetry used as design elements throughout. <br />• Covered courtyard with exhibit potential maximizes open space, eliminates direct sun light, uses bay breezes for fresh air, and <br />optimizes light and energy performance. <br />• Decentralized volumes for building, maximize HVAC efficiency. <br />• Low emitting materials specified. <br />• Stormwater retention for irrigation and reduction of water. <br />• Tropical/ Native species landscaping. <br />• Project as interactive human relationship of spaces to coalesce interchange between visitors. <br />
