PROJECT NAME: Okeechobee County SW Drainage <br />HMGP Grant <br />PROJECT ENTITY: <br />Okeechobee County <br />CONTACT NAME /NO.: <br />Jim Threewits, Deputy County Administrator <br />863 - 763 -4458 <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br />The SW Area Drainage Improvements is a HMGP /FEMA project <br />that includes the stormwater improvements within three rights -of- <br />way of Okeechobee County and are expected to benefit a 170 - <br />acre urbanized area of the County including improved access to a <br />hurricane shelter. The proposed stormwater improvements <br />include the installation of gravity collection systems with water <br />quality treatment components incorporated into the project design. <br />This project supports and augments the protection of the Northern <br />Everglades Ecosystem, supports the Lake Okeechobee <br />Protection Act, and objectives of the South Florida Water Manage- <br />ment District. <br />RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />Surveying, utility locates, engineering, permitting, bidding <br />assistance, construction management, fund acquisition <br />assistance. <br />TOTAL BID PRICE: <br />$1,392,669.55 <br />YEAR: <br />2009 -2010 <br />FINAL PRICE: <br />N/A <br />PROJECT INITIATION: July 26, 2010 <br />PROJECT COMPLETION: February 21, 2011 <br />Craig A.
