Penetration Test (SPT) borings. Provided geotechnical recommendations to address organics layers encountered. Provided
discussion of options which included surcharge, geosynthetic, soil mixing, mat foundation, and pin piles. Completed on time
and within budget in 2010.
Eden Lakes Park — Shade and Play Structure, Miami, Florida
Performed a geotechnical engineering study. Field work included a Standard Penetration Test (SPT) boring. Provided detailed
information regarding subsurface and groundwater conditions. Provided geotechnical engineering recommendations for
shallow foundation design. Completed on time and within budget in 2013.
Parking Garages D & E, Port of Miami, Miami -Dade County, Florida
Provided geotechnical services for the design of two six -story parking garages located within the Port of Miami facility. Field
work included drilling twelve (12) Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings to a depth of 80 to 100 feet below the surface.
Provided geotechnical recommendations regarding foundation soil preparation requirements, foundation types, depths,
allowable bearing capacities, an estimate of potential settlement, and comments regarding factors that may impact
construction. Also provided construction material testing and threshold inspection Services for the construction of Parking
Garage D, a four -story parking garage (designed for future 6 stories) for 738 cars. Testing/lab services included Modified
Proctor, LBR values on structural fill, subgrade, base and backfill material, Sieve Analysis tests in conjunction with Proctor
tests, Test compressive strength concrete cylinders, grout prisms and cylinders for auger - cast -pile. Performed In- Place-
Density testing on structural fill, subgrade, base and utility backfill soils, Conducted slump, and temperature testing on
concrete, molded compressive strength test cylinders, masonry grout prisms and auger- cast -pile cylinders. Performed and
monitored test piles and load test program, provided pile inspector to monitor auger -cast pile installation, and provided
technician to monitor asphalt placement. Provided pile inspector to observe placement of test piles and perform
compression, tension and lateral load tests and to observe installation of production piles. Provided Licensed Building
Inspector to observe placement of reinforcing steel in pile caps, slab -on- grade, masonry walls, and all inspections necessary to
comply with threshold inspection plan. Also performed inspection of weld connections and attachments. Completed on time
and within budget in 2009.
MIC- Earlington Heights Metrorail Connector, Miami -Dade Transit (MDT), Miami -Dade County, Florida
Performed geotechnical services for the MIC - Earlington Heights Metrorail Connector in Miami -Dade County. The project
consisted of the construction of the extension of the metrorail from MIC to Earlington Heights Station and the guideway
structure was supported on deep foundation system (drilled shafts & auger cast piles). As a geotechnical consultant for the
Contractor, reviewed shaft and pile installation data, load test results, pile /shaft integrity test results and performed capacity
evaluation for those shafts and piles that did not meet the design requirements and provided recommendation for foundation
redesign. Completed on time and within budget in 2010.
SW 184th Street from Approximately 1200 Feet East of SW 157th Avenue to Approximately 100' West of SW 170th Avenue,
Miami -Dade County, Florida
Roadway improvement project which includes roadway widening to provide paved shoulders for SW 184th Street from
Approximately 1200' East of SW 157th Avenue to Approximately 100 Feet West of SW 170th Avenue in Miami -Dade County,
Florida. Field Work included 20 auger borings, pavement cores from existing pavement, and exfiltration tests. Provided
Geotechnical recommendations and evaluation of the site and subsurface conditions with respect to the planned roadway
improvements and for site preparation and foundation construction.
Cordova Rodriguez & Assoc., Inc.
