d * FLO
CFTx OF SVA I+V
City of Sunny Isles Beach
18070 Collins Avenue
Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160
(305) 947-0606 City Hall
(305) 949-3113 Fax
MEMORANDUM
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners
VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager
FROM: Edward Santiago, Chief of Police
DATE: June 15, 2023
RE: Approval of an Agreement with Millenium Products Inc. for a Real Tim(
Crime Center Build.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Police Department has made an investment in technology to make this community safer. The
utilization of license plate reader technology has assisted in criminal investigations and has alerted
patrol officers to the presence of wanted vehicles and subjects so we can proactively intervene.
Additionally the extensive CCTV project has placed cameras in most parks that are wirelessly streamec
to the Police Department's Communication Center. We are seeking approval to expand the use of
technology and enter into an agreement with Millenium Products Inc. to build a Real Time Crim(
Center inside of the Communications Center for an amount not to exceed $193,810.60 which includes
a 10% contingency via GSA contract GS071`0031W. The Real Time Crime Center will include six 55
narrow bezel video monitors and requisite software that will act as a repository for our existing
technology. This Real Time Crime Center build will allow our Communications Officers to be able tc
access the license plate reader and CCTV systems from their work stations. They will be able to utiliz(
both systems on the large interfaces to assist our officers with getting real time information they need
to do their jobs. This collaboration will enhance public safety and ensure the use of this technology is
maximized.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Agreement to be submitted.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds have been appropriated in account no 600-3-5210-XXXXXX-XXXX.
ATTACHMENTS:
Item Number: 10.F
458
