SIB proposed to complete the Central Island Drainage Improvements projec <br />("SIB Project") and NMB is proposed to complete the Sunny Isles Distribution System Watermai <br />Replacement project ("NMB Project"). SIB and NMB wished to construct the Projects in conjunctio <br />with each other, concurrently, utilizing the same contractor, to minimize the impacts to the residents <br />of the City and to realize potential cost savings by combining the Projects. Each Party was responsible <br />for bearing its own costs and expenses related to any protests that may be filed with their respective <br />agency. <br />On March 27, 2023, the city of sunny isles beach (lead agency) released Invitation to Bid # 23-03-01, <br />titled City of Sunny Isles Beach Central Island Drainage Improvement & City of North Miami Beac <br />Distribution System Watermain Replacements on DemandStar. The ITB was broadcasted to 2,58` <br />contractors. On April 12, 2023, the city held a mandatory pre-bid meeting, in which eleven (11) <br />interested bidders attended the sunshine meeting. <br />On June 7, 2023, the city's clerk office received (1) bid. As a result of the limited competition and the <br />single bid total being in excess of each city's budget, the recommendation is to reject the single bid. <br />Pursuant to the City of Sunny Isles Beach Code of Ordinances, Chapter 62, Section 8, Procedures fc <br />Award in excess of $50,000, (d) Rejection of Bids, the City Commission may authorize City Manager to <br />Item Number: 10.M <br />399 <br />
