crrr of sup+ ��o <br />TO: <br />VIA: <br />FROM: <br />DATE: <br />RE: <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />Stan Morris, City Manager <br />Edward Santiago, Chief of Police <br />October 19, 2023 <br />PD Vehicle Purchase from Bartow Ford <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />The Police Department is seeking approval to purchase eight (8) Police Ford Explorers with prisoner <br />cages from Bartow Ford for $421,791.52 via Charlotte County contract #2021000541. The vehicle! <br />have been budgeted as capital items in the 23/24 budget. This batch of vehicles will replace the 2018 <br />vehicles currently in our fleet. The replaced 2018 police vehicles will transition to our pool vehicle <br />allotment, the older pool vehicles will then be sold. <br />Additionally, the police department is seeking to purchase an unmarked Ford F150 for use by a <br />detective for $53,260.04 via Charlotte County contract 2021000541. This vehicle was also budgeted as <br />a capital item in the 23/24 budget. It will replace an unmarked vehicle that is from model year 2016. <br />The Police Department is also seeking to purchase a second 2023 Ford F150 for $57,800.00 <br />Lastly the Police Department is also seeking to purchase a Police K9 Ford F150 via Charlotte Count, <br />Contract 2021000541 for $63,914.04 utilizing Local Law Enforcement Trust Funds. The Polic( <br />Department acquired two police K9s which are currently training with their assigned handlers. The <br />purchase of this vehicle will allow the police department to replace a current K9 vehicle which is a <br />2015 model year. This vehicle will come fully equipped with the necessary K9 equipment needed. <br />The purchase of all eleven (11) vehicles will be in an amount not to exceed $624,884.32. <br />Item Number: 10.F <br />
