qtr `F4y\� ti <br />FC t FLSS �' �S <br />Tt OF say+ <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305)949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager <br />FROM: Rick Labinsky, P.E., City Engineer <br />DATE: January 18, 2024 <br />RE: Request to Approve an Agreement with BEA Architects, Inc. for the <br />Renovation of the City Hall Annex <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach is in need of an Architect to prepare plans to renovate the old Toni <br />Romas Restaurant to be converted to offices for the City Building Department and to also have a small <br />cafe style food service facility. BEA Architects, Inc. is a qualified consultant that has extensivE <br />experience in this subject matter. The Consultant has agreed to provide these services in an amount <br />not to exceed $263,609.88. <br />Pursuant to the provisions contained in the Continuing Services Agreement between the City of Sunni <br />Isles Beach ("City") and BEA Architects, Inc. ("Consultant") for Professional Architectural Servic( <br />pursuant to Request for Qualifications No. 20-07-01 and via Resolution No. 2021-3177, authorizes the <br />Consultant to provide such services. <br />Procurement Process: <br />Pursuant to Florida Statutes, architectural and engineering firms must be procured via Consultants' <br />Competitive Negotiation Act, FL Stat § 287.055. In line with Resolution 2021-3177, four architectura <br />firms were awarded a continuing services contract on an as -needed basis based on their <br />responsiveness and qualifications. <br />A "continuing contract" is a contract for professional services entered into in accordance with all the <br />Item Number: 10.M <br />328 <br />
