CASTILLO <br />Senior Estimator <br />EXPERIENCE <br />Mr. Castillo, President, has 52 years of <br />experience in overseeing the <br />construction operations of a multi‐ <br />million-dollar company. He oversees <br />approximately $40 million worth of <br />projects per year; these projects include <br />the construction and design‐build of <br />sanitary sewers, water mains, force <br />mains, drainage, pump stations, <br />directional drilling, aerial crossings, <br />micro‐tunnels, and jack & bores. His <br />work has included ten major <br />neighborhood improvement projects <br />with as many as 2,100 homes; including, <br />streetscape, lighting, and signalization. <br />Mr. Castillo has a love for the <br />improvement of Florida’s infrastructure <br />thereby reducing the impact to the <br />environment and wildlife which he <br />enjoys photographing. <br /> <br />CERTIFICATIONS <br />• Army Corps of Engineers – <br />Contractor Quality Control Mgmt. <br />• Work Zone Traffic Control – <br />Intermediate Certification <br />• Occupational Safety & Health <br />Association – 10‐Hour Training <br />PROJECT EXPERIENCE <br />Section 5 Project Installation of 48‐Inch PCCP <br />Owner: Miami‐Dade Water & Sewer Department - $450,000. <br />Reference: George Aguiar (786‐229‐0859), Pedro Vigil (305‐ 205‐ <br />5152), Nelson Cespedes (786‐552‐8142), Larry Goodwin (786‐295‐ <br />3754) <br />Role: Principal / Project Manager <br />This project was performed for Condotte/CAC/DeMoya, J.V. and it <br />was located on NW 72nd Avenue from NW 8th Street thru NW 12th <br />Street. The project consisted of 48" PCCP including restrained pipe, <br />fittings, closures and connections to existing 48" PCCP. The path of <br />the pipe was on NW 72nd Ave a 6 lane road with extreme heavy <br />traffic. Several businesses existed along the path requiring difficult <br />coordination and access at all times. The worked involved; critical <br />demolition of existing PCCP, removing sewage from existing pipe, <br />sheeting and shoring, extensive de‐ watering, deep excavations, <br />installation of access manholes and air releases, dealing with heavy <br />traffic, working on weekends, nights and multiple crews. Difficult <br />utility support and crossings. The project had tight time restraints <br />due to existing lines requiring minimal shut down period. We <br />succeeded in completing the Installation and connection within the <br />scheduled time frame. <br /> <br />DERM01‐WASD‐NLE‐WEST 54" PCCP Force Main <br />Owner: Miami‐Dade Water & Sewer Department - $6,649,092 <br />Reference: Nelson Cespedes ‐ 786‐552‐8142 <br />Role: General Manager / Project Manager <br />Project consisted 54" PCCP near Opa‐Loka Airport, NW 57th Ave <br />and Le‐Jeune Rd. Construction required 54" Plug valves, fittings, <br />access manholes, air releases, restrained pipe, interior lining, <br />extensive de‐ watering, deep excavations over 18 foot deep, <br />sheeting and shoring. We constructed open cut excavation of 30 <br />foot canal, and also NW 57th avenue. Extensive coordination with <br />airport personnel, DOT, including the blocking off South Florida <br />Water Management canal within their strict guidelines and safety <br />protocols. Our crews worked thru the weekends and nights to <br />minimize impacts to NW 57th Ave. The project also included the <br />use and coordination of SBEs. Access to businesses, on ramps, and <br />the airport was a daily necessity. <br /> <br />Oleta River 54" Emergency Repair <br />Owner: Miami‐Dade Water & Sewer Department - $390,772 <br />Reference: Rod Lovett ‐ 305‐254‐5871/305‐607‐1446 <br />Role: General Manager / Project Manager <br />This project is located on NE 163rd Street in North Miami Beach. <br />The project was an emergency repair of a ruptured 54" PCCP <br />requiring immediate response and construction. The construction <br />required extensive MOT on a 7 lane DOT roadway, demolition of <br />existing pipe, shoring, de‐watering, deep excavation, night and <br />weekend work as well as multiple crews. The work was completed <br />ahead of schedule. <br />
