This may potentially affecting the thoroughness of
municipal building, planning, and zoning evaluations by leading to hurried and careless review of
construction projects. The bills also propose changes to the timeframe and procedures for building
permit applications, including the reduction of the municipal authority to request additional
information and the "deeming" of applications as approved if specific timeframes are not met, which
could undermine the city's ability to ensure compliance with local codes and development standards.
The imposition of such requirements without adequate consideration for local conditions, resources,
and governance structures poses a significant challenge to the city's ability to manage its
developmental trajectory effectively.
ATTACHMENTS:
Resolution
Senate Bill 684
Item Number: 10.N
280
