BID TITLE: BID 19 -17 -12 -HR BID NUMBER: ROOFING MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS <br />PART 1 —GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE <br />A. The work of this section shall consist of all labor, materials, equipment and <br />incidentals necessaryto apply Roof Coating System at City of Sunrise as specified in <br />the Manufacturer's specifications. Many different roof systems are used throughout <br />the City of Sunrise, it is therefore recommended that the CONTRACTOR, prior to <br />bid, inspect the existing facilities and conditions and become acquainted with those <br />conditions which will affect work to be performed. Once the Purchase Order is <br />issued, it will be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR to complete any and all <br />repairs under any and all circumstances and field conditions. <br />B. The following items described minimum sizes of repairs/replacements which the <br />CONTRACTOR can expect on any single Purchase Order: <br />1. 100 square feet for pressure cleaning. <br />2. 1,000 square feet for roof coatings. <br />3. 500 square feet for waterproofing systems. <br />C. All repair work shall be approved by the City Representative prior to payment of <br />invoice. Verification of leak repair prior to payment may, at the City of Sunrise's <br />discretion, include inspection after a rain storm. <br />D. The work includes but is not limited to the following: <br />1. Cleaning and preparation of substrate. <br />2. Application of primers, when required. <br />3. Detailing of flashings and penetrations. <br />4. Application of base coat on roof surface, when required. <br />5. Application of topcoat, finish coat on roof surface, when required. <br />1.02 DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br />A. The CONTRACTOR's roof repairs shall comply with Manufacturer's Specifications <br />for application of the product. <br />1.03 QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. MANUFACTURERS: <br />Provide primary products to be compatible with existing material. <br />B. COORDINATION: <br />The CONTRACTOR shall coordinate requirements of roofing and decking <br />subcontractors so as to insure compatibility of installed systems. Modifications to <br />respective specifications to meet manufacturer's requirements are the responsibility <br />of the CONTRACTOR, subject to the review of the CITY's representative. <br />C. Finished repairs must be solid and tight. Once a permit is obtained and paid for by <br />the CONTRACTOR, the Building Department will inspect completed repairs and <br />require a water test if necessary to verify proper adhesion and that the leak has been <br />repaired. The CONTRACTOR shall rework at no additional cost to the CITY, any <br />repair areas that are burned, delaminated, buckled, blistered, inadequately repaired <br />or leaking water. <br />D. The CONTRACTOR shall initiate repairs immediately (within 24 hours) upon receipt <br />of a Purchase Order by the CITY. <br />Revised 6/27/18 Page 10 <br />
