f,rTM 4F 5.'Jn }.�C <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager <br />FROM: Rick Labinsky, P.E., City Engineer <br />DATE: April 18, 2024 <br />RE: Approval an Agreement with Paragon Construction Unlimited for Demolition <br />of the Interior of the City Annex Building and the Demolition of the Richelieu <br />Building <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach (SI B) is in need of a contractor to perform demolition work at two (2) city - <br />owned properties, located at 18126 Atlantic Blvd. (Richelieu Building) and 18050 Collins Avenue (Annex <br />Building). <br />The City of Miami Beach (Miami Beach) issued Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 2018 -183 -KB <br />"Citywide Demolitions Services on an As -Needed Basis," and in July 2019, an Agreement with Paragon <br />Construction Unlimited, Inc. (Contractor) for an initial three (3) year term, terminating on July 24, 2022, <br />with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year terms. Prior to expiration of the initial term, <br />Miami Beach exercised its options to renew its Agreement through July 24, 2024. <br />Utilizing the terms and conditions and pricing offered to Miami Beach, SIB wishes enter into an <br />Agreement with the Contractor to demolish the interior of the Annex Building and demolish the <br />Richelieu Building, in a total amount not to exceed $226,761.70, which includes an amount of <br />$20,614.70 for contingency. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />Item Number: 10.G <br />321 <br />
