RESOLUTION NO. 2014- 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND THE NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT FROM ONE HUNDRED TWENTY NINE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($129,900.00) TO ONE HUNDRED FORTY -SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY -FIVE DOLLARS ($147,525.00) WITH GRAPHPLEX SIGNS FOR ADDITIONAL SIGNS AND POSTS FOR THE CITY IN FISCAL YEAR 2013/2014; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on November 21, 2013 via Resolution No. 2013 -2156 the City Commission awarded Bid No. 13 -10 -01 to GraphPlex Signs for the purchase of two hundred (200) Decorative Street Signs and Posts, in an amount not to exceed Ninety -Four Thousand Dollars ($94,000.00); and WHEREAS, on February 27, 2014 via Resolution No. 2014 -2208 the City Commission approved an Agreement with GraphPlex Signs to fabricate and install four (4) one -of -a -kind monument signs for Intracoastal Parks, in an amount not to exceed Thirty Thousand Seven Hundred Forty Dollars ($30,740.00), bringing the total not to exceed amount to One Hundred Twenty -Four Thousand Seven Hundred Forty Dollars ($124,740.00); and WHEREAS, on May 15, 2014 via Resolution No. 2014 -2239 the City Commission approved the purchase of twenty -one (2 1) additional decorative street sign posts from GraphPlex Signs, in an amount not to exceed Five Thousand One Hundred Sixty Dollars ($5,160.00), bringing the total not to exceed amount to One Hundred Twenty -Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($129,900.00); and WHEREAS, on June 19, 2014 via Ordinance No. 2014 -432 the City Commission restricted the use of certain wheeled devices along Collins Avenue and Sunny Isles Boulevard, and a component of enforcement is proper signage advising the public of the restriction; and WHEREAS, in an effort to maintain a uniform standard for City signs, GraphPlex quoted the rules signs and posts, as well as additional signage needed in the City; and WHEREAS, the City now wishes to increase this amount by Seventeen Thousand Six Hundred Twenty -Five Dollars ($17,625.00) to provide additional signage and posts, and wishes to authorize the City Manager to approve the expenditure of budgeted funds in the amount up to One Hundred Forty -Seven Thousand Five Hundred Twenty -Five Dollars ($147,525.00) with GraphPlex Signs for Fiscal Year 2013/2014.
