Russo, City Manager <br />Susan Simpson, Cultural and Community Services Director <br />9/18/2014 <br />Increase Spending Authority with GraphPlex for Fiscal Year 2013- <br />2014 by $17,625.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution to <br />increase the spending authority with GraphPlex by $17,625.00 for a not to <br />exceed total expenditure for Fiscal Year 2013 -2014 of $147,525.00. <br />REASONS: <br />Through Resolution Number 2013 -2156, the City awarded bid number 13 -10 -01 <br />to GraphPlex Signs for the purchase of decorative street signs in the amount of <br />$94,000.00. Subsequently Resolutions 2014 -2208 and 2014 -2239 authorized <br />additional spending in the total amount of $35,900.00 resulting in authority to <br />expend a total amount up to $129,900 for the current fiscal year. <br />In June 2014, through Ordinance 2014 -432, the City Commission restricted the <br />use of certain wheeled devices along Collins Avenue and Sunny Isles Boulevard <br />as well as giving the City Manager the authority to do all things necessary to <br />educate the public and enact that ordinance. A component of enforcement is <br />proper signage advising the public of the restriction. In an effort to maintain a <br />uniform standard for City signs, GraphPlex quoted the rules signs and posts. To <br />expedite the production, the City Manager approved the purchase during August. <br />Delivery is expected by 9/30/14. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />While developing this order, other signs were requested that increases the initial <br />quote. The additional requests will cover additional 'pick up after your pet' signs <br />for the central island area, a 'handicap parking only' sign required gntiaOpApIOF <br />Community Park, and directional signs to denote where the pier and m6tauaint <br />
