Russo, City Manager <br /> FROM: Clayton L Parker, Building Official <br /> DATE: 9/18/2014 <br /> RE: Amendment to Chapter 156 - Building Department Fee Schedule <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission approves the attached Ordinance <br /> proposing a revision to Chapter 156 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Code of <br /> Ordinances to include Section "L" in the Building Department's Fee Schedule, <br /> enabling the Department to provide Specialized Permitting Services for interior <br /> remodeling work. <br /> REASONS: <br /> Responding to customers' requests to provide services beyond the Department's <br /> current standard, the Building Department developed a program to provide <br /> specialized permitting services for interior remodeling work. The program will <br /> offer additional services as follows: <br /> • Pre-construction meeting with the Building Official and/or their designee <br /> (optional) <br /> • Permit counter service by appointment <br /> • Expedited plan review <br /> • Orientation in setting up online permitting account <br /> In addition to the calculated permit fees, the applicant seeking "Specialized <br /> Permitting Services for interior remodeling work will pay and added 1% of the <br /> total job value (as determined by the Building Official and/or their designee.)
