ORDINANCE NO. 2024 -� AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2023-606; APPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT NO. BA2324-02 TO THE CITY'S OPERATING AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET FOR THE 2023-2024 FISCAL YEAR - GENERAL FUND, AND CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, in accordance with Sections 200.065 and 166.241, Florida Statutes, and the City Charter, the City Commission adopted the budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 ("Budget") by Ordinance No. 2023-606; and WHEREAS', the City's Finance Director has determined a need to amend the Budget to: (1) allocate funds from Assigned Fund Balance to expenditures for Parks & Recreation Master plan (PRMP) projects - Gateway artificial turf, Pelican Community Park closed campus, Heritage and Town Center Park playground equipment, The Spot Improvements, Intracoastal Sports Park, & City-wide Parks Improvements; (2) reallocate funds from Heritage Park playground equipment to Consulting for design of a new Heritage Park facility; (3) reallocate funds from land acquisition for demolition, surveying/mapping and title search associated with purchase of 18126 Atlantic Blvd; 4 Allocate funds for Samson Park shade structure repairs, (5) Allocate additional funds for the City Anniversary celebration and transfer funds between accounts for anticipated needs: (6) Allocate additional funds for the installation of the emergency generator at Gateway Parke and WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is necessary to amend the Budget, as set forth in Exhibit "A", based upon the review and analysis provided by the Finance Director. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part by this Ordinance upon adoption hereof. Section 2. Budget Amendment. The Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 adopted by Ordinance No. 2023-606 is hereby amended as Amendment No. BA2324-01 to reflect the revisions in Exhibit "A".
