CITY OF <br />y \S L FS <br />City Commission OTHER INFORMATION <br />Larisa Svechin Independent Audit <br />Mayor <br />Alex Lama The City Charter, Section 4. 10, requires an annual audit of the City's financial <br />Vice Mayor statements by independent auditors selected by the City Commission. This <br />Jerry Joseph requirement has been complied with and the independent auditors' report is <br />Commissioner included in the financial section of this report. <br />Fabiola Stuyvesant Awards and Acknowledgements <br />Commissioner <br />Jeniffer Viscarra The Government Finance Officers 'Association of the United States and <br />Commissioner Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in <br />Financial Reporting to the City for its ACFR for the fiscal year ended <br />® September 30, 2022. This was the 13th consecutive year the City received the <br />Staaward. In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a governmental <br />City Manager Morris unit must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized ACFR. This <br />City <br />report must satisfy both GAAP and applicable legal requirements. <br />Mauricio Betancur A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of one year only. We believe <br />City Clerk, CMC our current ACFR continues to meet the Certificate of Achievement Program's <br />requirements, and we are submitting it to the GFOA to determine its eligibility <br />for another certificate. <br />The GFOA also awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the <br />annual budget document for the October 1, 2022 — September 30, 2023 budget. <br />This was the 15th consecutive year the City received this award. This award <br />is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and represents a <br />significant achievement by the City. <br />It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the <br />highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the award, <br />the City satisfied nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget <br />presentation.
