Include all <br />benefits, processing procedures, deadlines, return items, safekeeping and destruction guidelines <br />and indemnification. (costs to be identified on the proposal form) <br />• You scan checks for deposit by using an approved check scanner and computer with <br />internet access. As you scan checks, images are captured and available for download. <br />Our deadline for Remote Deposit is 6 pm Eastern Standard Time. Returned items can be <br />redeposited via remote deposit capture a second time, otherwise a new check will be <br />required. Checks must be kept in locked location and then shredded after 90 days. <br /> <br />Address the liability for illegible images. <br /> <br />7. How will the Proposer return validated deposit receipts to the City for night deposits? <br />In what time frame? <br />• Amerant will include our Amerant Deposit Agreement, answer to this question is on page 18 <br /> <br />8. What is the Proposer’s notification and adjustment process for counterfeit bills and fraudulent <br />checks? <br />• The City would see all deposit corrections on Treasury Connect and can contact their client <br />specialist for more information. <br /> <br />9. Safekeeping Services <br />The Proposer may be required to act as custodian of the City's investment securities. For <br />safekeeping purposes, the Proposer would be required to evidence custody by providing an original <br />non-negotiable safekeeping receipt. How would the City be compensated for a failed security due <br />to the Proposer’s actions as it relates to Safekeeping Services as fully detailed in the Scope of <br />Services? <br />• Amerant Bank, N.A. owns and controls 100% of Amerant Investments, Inc., a Delaware <br />introducing broker dealer and registered investment advisor ("Amerant Investments"), which will <br />provide the safekeeping / custodial services. Amerant Investments will provide safekeeping / <br />custodial services through its agent Pershing, LLC a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bank of New York <br />Mellon, and one of the largest providers of investment custodial services in the market place.
