RESOLUTION 2024 -�� <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING AN INFORMATION EXCHANGE AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />CITY OF MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT TO SHARE INFORMATION FROM <br />THE VIGILANT LICENSE PLATE READER SYSTEM, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT <br />"A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Vigilant License Plate Reader System (the "System") is an electronic <br />database used to assist law enforcement agencies in detection, identification and recovery of <br />stolen vehicles, wanted persons, missing and/or endangered children/adults, and persons who <br />have committed serious and violent crimes; and <br />WHEREAS, the System can be utilized to assist in developing and pursuing leads in <br />criminal investigations by locating suspects, witnesses, and victims, as well as for the creation <br />and storage of offense reports; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach Police Department ("MBPD") has elected to be the <br />Lead Agency for statewide vetting of the System; and <br />WHERAS, MBPD is willing to share information from the System with the City of Sunny <br />Isles Beach (the "City") Police Department ("SIBPD"); <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve an Information Exchange Agreement <br />with MBPD to share information from the System with SIBPD, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval of Agreement. The City Commission hereby approves an Information <br />Exchange Agreement with MBPD to share information from the Vigilant License Plate Reader <br />System, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />Section 2. Effective Date.
