<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
<br />FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE STATE OF ISRAEL'S RIGHT TO EXIST AND TO
<br />DEFEND ITSELF AND ITS PEOPLE AGAINST ALL AGGRESSION FROM THE ISLAMIC
<br />REPUBLIC OF IRAN AND ITS PROXIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO,
<br />HAMAS, HEZBOLLAH, AND MEMBERS OF THE HOUTHI MOVEMENT
<br />(ANSARALLAH) WITHIN THE REPUBLIC OF YEMEN, AND SUPPORTING THE
<br />UNITED STATES' UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO ISRAEL'S SECURITY AND
<br />URGING THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT TO CONTINUE PROVIDING
<br />MILITARY SUPPORT AND ARMS TO THE STATE OF ISRAEL FOR PURPOSES OF ITS
<br />DEFENSE; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT CERTIFIED COPIES OF THIS
<br />RESOLUTION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
<br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
<br />DATE.
<br />WHEREAS, early Saturday morning, October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists, the terrorist
<br />organization that controls Gaza, which is directly and indirectly supported and funded by the
<br />Islamic Republic of Iran, launched an unprovoked and unjustified war on the State of Israel by
<br />air, land, and sea, including thousands of missiles; and
<br />WHEREAS, the United States has designated Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi
<br />Movement (Ansarallah) as terrorist organizations because of their terrorist activities and their
<br />repeated attacks against 'the State of Israel, which has included suicide bombings and
<br />thousands of rocket attacks; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Islamic Republic of Iran conducts its terrorist operations throughout the
<br />Middle East region through its proxies, including but not limited to, Hamas, Hezbollah, and
<br />members of the Houthi Movement (Ansarallah) within the Republic of Yemen;
<br />WHEREAS, the large-scale surprise attacks by Hamas on October 7, and the atrocities,
<br />war crimes, and subsequent continued daily rocket attacks on the State of Israel, committed by
<br />the Islamic Republic of Iran, and its proxies, represent the most dangerous escalation in the
<br />Middle East in decades; and
<br />WHEREAS, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the' Houthi Movement (Ansarallah), with the support
<br />and funding of the Islamic Republic of Iran, have launched thousands of missiles into Israel; and
<br />WHEREAS, the acts of terrorism committed by Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi
<br />Movement (Ansarallah), with the support and funding of the Islamic Republic of Iran, against
<br />the State of Israel threatens global peace and security; and
<br />WHEREAS, the City Commission supports the State of Israel's right to exist and defend
<br />itself as it protects its citizens from the continued aggression, terrorism, and military action
<br />continuously perpetrated by Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi Movement (Ansarallah), with
<br />the support and funding of the Islamic Republic of Iran; and
