RESOLUTION NO. 2014 - 2 ID <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING TWO (2) <br />ADDITIONAL STEPS FOR SERGEANT IN CONFORMANCE WITH <br />ALL OTHER STEP PLANS IN THE PAY PLAN; APPROVING A <br />REVISED PAY STEP PLAN FOR SWORN POLICE OFFICERS <br />BASED ON A SALARY SURVEY CONDUCTED PURSUANT TO <br />THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND THE POLICE BENEVOLENT <br />ASSOCIATION (PBA), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A'; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on February 21, 2008 via Resolution No. 2008 -1219 the City Commission <br />approved a Pay Plan for Sworn Police Officers which established an effective date of the Pay Plan <br />and provided periodic review of the Pay Plan: and <br />WHEREAS, on March 15, 2012 via Resolution No. 2012 -1874 the City Commission entered <br />into a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Police Benevolent Association regarding terms and <br />conditions of employment; and <br />WHEREAS, on July 19, 2012 via Resolution No. 2012 -1934 the City Commission approved <br />the Step Program Salary Survey for the Police Salary Step Plan effective March 15. 2012 to March <br />15. 2014: and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 10 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the City is <br />required to conduct a Step Program Salary Survey every two (2) years which will be implemented <br />retroactively from the date of approval of the Collective Bargaining Agreement: and <br />WHEREAS, the City now wishes to approve two (2) additional steps for Sergeant in <br />conformance with all other plans, and the Step Program Salary Survey for the Police Salary Step <br />Plan effective October 1, 2014, attached hereto as Exhibit "A ". <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval and Implementation. Pursuant to Article 10 of the Collective Bargaining <br />Agreement, the City Commission hereby approves two (2) additional steps for Sergeant in <br />conformance with all other Step Plans in the Pay Plan, and the revised Pay Plan based on the Step <br />Program Salary Survey, effective October 1. 2014, attached hereto as Exhibit "A ". <br />Section 2. Authorization of Citv Manager.
