RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - 5 ?VJ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN IN-KIND DONATION TO RUSSIAN CENTER OF SOUTH FLORIDA FOR USE OF GATEWAY CENTER AND GATEWAY PARK FOR A FREE COMMUNITY EVENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") has received an in-kind donation request from the Russian Center of South Florida (the "Chabad") for use of Gateway Center and Gateway Park (collectively the "Facilities"); and WHEREAS, the Chabad host their annual Chanukah event (the "Event") at the Facilities; and WHEREAS, the Event is free and open to the public, with an anticipated attendance of approximately 500 people; and WHEREAS, the Chabad agrees to list the City as an additional insured on their insurance policy; WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to approve the use of the Facility as an in-kind donation to the Chabad for the Event to be held on December 29, 2024, equating to an amount not to exceed Eleven Thousand Four Hundred Fifty -Five Dollars and No Cents ($11,455.00) in out-of-pocket expenses. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the use of the Facility as an in-kind donation to the Chabad for the Event, equating to an amount not to exceed Eleven Thousand Four Hundred Fifty -Five Dollars and No Cents ($11,455.00) in out-of- pocket expenses. Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
