cFr* QF avN r.�° <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager <br />FROM: Rick Labinsky, P.E., City Engineer <br />DATE: November 21, 2024 <br />RE: Approval of a First Amendment with BEA Architects Inc. for Architectural and <br />Engineering Services forthe City Annex Project <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff is recommending the City Commission approve the attached Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach approved BEA Architects Inc. to perform architectural and engineering <br />design, permitting and construction services for the renovation of the old Tony Romas building into the <br />new City Building Department Offices along with a cafe space with Resolution 2024-3611 for a total <br />approved contract amount of $263,610.00. That contract will expire in January of 2025 with a total <br />remaining balance of $145,960.00 for design completion, bidding, permitting and construction <br />administration, authorized reimbursables and approved additional services. Due to the expiration of the <br />original agreement, staff is recommending approving this amendment to complete the project using the <br />remaining balance of $145,960.00. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />This approval does not require any additional funding allocation. As the design architect and engineer <br />for this project, it is necessary to continue to utilize the services of BEA architects Inc. to perform this <br />work to complete the project. <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br />Funds have been appropriated in account no. 140-4-5150-463000-00000. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution <br />Item Number: 9.M <br />433 <br />
