Biscayne Country 1870-1926, Miami, FL.: Banyan Books, Inc., 1981. <br />Draft Resolution Designating the Property: <br />Whereas, Atlantic Island's bridges, built in the mid -1920s, are the remaining <br />antangible examples of the beautifying features of the early development of Atlantic Island, <br />Whereas, Atlantic Island's bridges are architecturally significant for thier design <br />and use of native oolitic limestone, and <br />Whereas, the preservation of historic buildings and structures is in the best <br />interest of Dade County and its citizens, and <br />Whereas, the Atlantic Island's bridges are located on Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic <br />Island, Plat Book 34, p. 17. <br />Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Historic Preservation Board on Thursday, <br />January 19, 1984, has designated Atlantic Island's bridges as individual historic sites <br />Pursuant to the Metropolitan Dade County Historic Preservation Ordinance (81-13) and that <br />Atlantic Island's bridges are subject to all rights, privileges and requirements of that <br />ordinance. <br />Designation is approved as evidenced by the signature of the <br />Historic Preservation Board Chairman. <br />Page 78 of 98 89 <br />
