F60
c,rx aF s+Yn r.a
City of Sunny Isles Beach
18070 Collins Avenue
Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160
(305) 947-0606 City Hall
(305) 949-3113 Fax
MEMORANDUM
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners
VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager
FROM: Edward Santiago, Chief of Police
DATE: January 16, 2025
RE: Approval of an Agreement with Millenium to Upgrade CCTV at Gateway Park
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
REASONS:
The Police Department is seeking to enter into an agreement with Millenium (sic) Products Inc. to
upgrade the CCTV system currently in place at the Gateway Park. This project will expand coverage of
critical areas with new cameras and implement an artificial intelligence server for use with our current
camera system. This Al server will enable the cameras to visually detect the presence of firearms, if they
are observed on camera view. If they are observed, an alert will be sent directly to the Police
Communications Center Hiperwall. This will allow our Communications Officers to get a visual on the
event and dispatch police officers immediately. Additionally, the Al server has the ability to recognize
faces. This will allow the police department to "flag" certain people who may no longer have the
privilege of visiting Gateway Park, and their mere presence may be a crime. The agreement has a not to
exceed cost of $175,000.00 which includes a contingency of $13,509.26 which is the remaining
budgeted amount.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds have been appropriated in Account No. 001-3-5210-XXXXXX-XXXXX.
ATTACHMENTS:
Resolution
Agreement
Item Number: 9.F
all]
