Neely, Finance Director <br />DATE: January 16, 2025 <br />RE: First Amendment and Consentto Assignment - CBIZ CPAs, P.C., f/k/a Marcum <br />LLP for Auditing Services <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />Per Florida State Statutes, the City is required to have an annual financial audit of its accounts and <br />records by an independent Certified Public Accountant. The City completed its most recent <br />independent audit agreement for a final term of six years with MSL, PA and went out to rebid for <br />professional auditing services. <br />On April 12, 2022, via Resolution 2022-3312 the City awarded a Request for Proposals (RFP) contract to <br />the highest ranked firm, Marcum, LLP. The initial term was until the completion of services for fiscal year <br />September 30, 2024. The City had the option to extend this Agreement for two (2) additional one (1) <br />year terms ("Renewal Terms"). <br />On November 18, 2024, Finance received a letter informing that on November 1, 2024, CBIZ CPAs P.C. <br />acquired the attest business of Marcum LLP (and CBIZ, Inc. and its related entities acquired the non - <br />attest business). Furthermore, CBIZ CPAs, agreed to honorthe existingterms, and pricing of the existing <br />contract with Marcum. <br />This first amendment is requesting approval to proceed with the assignment of the city's professional <br />auditing services contract to CBIZ CPAs and also proceed with the first renewal term for audit services <br />for the fiscal year ending on September 30, 2025, in an amount not -to -exceed $75,375.00. <br />Item Number: 9.Q <br />394 <br />
