Rodent and Pest Control: Provide control measures to keep snakes, rodents, birds, and <br />other animals from nesting in the building(s) and storage areas during the construction <br />period <br /> <br />1. Provide localized control measures to eliminate all outbreaks of insect infestation <br />such as ant colonies, hornet nests, or bee hives during the construction period. <br />2. Use only chemicals that bear a federal registration number of the U.S. <br />Environmental Protection Agency. <br />3. Employ methods that will not adversely affect the site or any adjacent sites. <br /> <br />1.3 GRADES, LINES, LEVELS <br /> <br />A. Information pertaining to preliminary investigations, such as test borings, location of <br />utilities, existing structures, and existing grades appear in the Project Manual or on the <br />Drawings. While such data has been collected with reasonable care, there is no expressed <br />or implied guarantee that conditions so indicated are entirely representative of those <br />actually existing or that unforeseen developments may not occur. Where underground <br />services, utilities, and structures are located on the Drawings or given at the site, they are <br />based on available records, but are not guaranteed to be complete or correct. <br /> <br />B. Locate general reference points and take action necessary to prevent destruction. Lay out <br />work for all lines, elevations, and measurements of the building, utilities, and other Work. <br />Exercise precaution to verify Drawings before laying out work. <br /> <br />C. Using datum furnished by the Owner, the lot lines and present levels have been established <br />and shown on the Drawings. Other grades, lines levels, and bench marks must be <br />established as part of the Work. <br /> <br />D. Provide stake-out and grade staking for all work from reference points provided. Establish <br />all grades, lines, levels, and elevations required for work from on-site reference points. <br /> <br />E. Preserve property line stakes, bench marks, or datum point. Replace if any are lost, <br />displaced, or disturbed through neglect. <br /> <br />F. Verify grades, lines, levels, locations, and dimensions as shown on Drawings, and report <br />any errors or inconsistencies to the Architect before commencing work. Starting of work <br />shall signify acceptance. <br /> <br />1.4 TAXES <br /> <br />A. Taxes which are legally enacted at the time bids are received, whether or not effective, <br />shall be paid by the contractor. <br /> <br />1.5 PERMITS, FEES, AND NOTICES <br /> <br />A. Secure the general building permit. Secure other permits, governmental fees, parking, and <br />licenses necessary for the execution and completion of the Work. Fees to relocate utilities <br />on Owner's property shall be included in the bid. <br />
