General provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions. <br /> <br />B. Section 024119 Selective Demolition, Section 134900 Radiation Protection <br /> <br />1.2 SUMMARY <br /> <br />A. Lead is used to line several specific rooms on Level 2, as indicated on the architectural <br />drawings. <br /> <br />B. Lead panel removal shall be done as part of the abatement effort and includes all material, <br />labor and equipment and other related costs for carrying out construction activities in <br />accordance with 29 CFR 1926.62, including (but not limited to): <br /> <br />1. providing a competent person to oversee removal operations, <br /> <br />2. providing lead awareness training for all employees who will be working on the <br />removal operation, <br /> <br />3. installation of appropriate engineering controls to capture all lead-containing <br />debris, minimize the risk of employee exposure to lead in air during removal and <br />disposal operations, <br /> <br />4. carrying out an exposure assessment to determine if exposure will occur (in <br />accordance with 29 CFR 1926.62d “Exposure assessment”), and <br /> <br />5. carrying out all lead operations in accordance with methods proven in the <br />exposure assessment. <br /> <br />6. Disposal of all lead-containing debris as hazardous materials. <br /> <br />1.3 REFERENCES: <br /> <br />A. The publications listed below form a part of this specification to the extent referenced. The <br />list is for reference only and may not be comprehensive. Publications on the list are referred <br />to in the text by the basic designation only. <br /> <br />1.
