<br />THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br /> <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024 033000 Cast-in-Place Concrete-9 <br /> <br /> <br />C. Limit water-soluble, chloride-ion content in hardened concrete to 0.30 percent by <br />weight of cement. <br /> <br />D. Admixtures: Use admixtures according to manufacturer's written instructions. <br /> <br />1. Use water-reducing, high-range water-reducing, or plasticizing admixture in <br />concrete, as required, for placement and workability. <br /> <br />2. Use water-reducing and retarding admixture when required by high <br />temperatures, low humidity, or other adverse placement conditions. <br /> <br />3. Use water-reducing admixture in pumped concrete, concrete for heavy- use <br />industrial slabs and parking structure slabs, concrete required to be watertight, <br />and concrete with a water-cementitious materials ratio below 0.50. <br /> <br />4. Use corrosion-inhibiting admixture in concrete mixtures where indicated. <br /> <br />2.7 CONCRETE MIXING <br /> <br />A. Ready-Mixed Concrete: Measure, batch: mix, and deliver concrete according to ASTM <br />C 94 and ASTM C 1116. <br /> <br />1. When air temperature is between 85 and 90 deg F, reduce mixing and <br />delivery time from 1-1/2 hours to 75 minutes; when air temperature is <br />above 90 deg F, reduce mixing and delivery time to 60 minutes. <br /> <br />2. In addition to batch ticket information required by ASTM C 94, the <br />following shall be provided: <br /> <br />a. Concrete Design Strength. <br />b. Type and amount of cement. <br />c. Class and amount of coal fly ash, or raw or calcined natural <br />pozzolans, if present. <br />d. Class and amount of ground granulated blast furnace slag, if <br />present. <br />e. Type and amount of silica fume, if present. <br />f. Type and amount of admixtures. <br />g. Type and amount of fiber reinforcement, if present. <br />h. Maximum size of aggregate. <br />i. Amount of water added at job site shall be noted on ticket. No <br />water is to be added at job site unless acceptable to Engineer. <br /> <br />3. One copy of delivery ticket shall be furnished to Engineer at time truck <br />arrives at job site. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.1 INSPECTION <br /> <br />A. Verify site conditions under provisions of Division 1 - General Requirements. <br /> <br />B. Verify requirements for concrete cover over reinforcement have been met.
