THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br /> <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024 033100 Structure Concrete-13 <br /> <br />1. Smooth Rubbed Finish: produced on newly hardened concrete no later than <br />day following form removal and after defects repaired; surface wetted and <br />rubbed with carborundum brick or other abrasive until uniform color and <br />texture are produced; no cement grout used other than cement paste drawn <br />from concrete itself by rubbing process. <br /> <br />E. Where a schedule of finishes is not included in this Section, or finishes are not shown <br />on Drawings, the following finishes shall be used as applicable: Rough Form Finish for <br />all concrete surfaces not exposed to public view; Smooth Form Finish with Smooth <br />Rubbed Finish for all concrete surfaces exposed to public view. <br /> <br />3.9 TOLERANCES <br /> <br />A. All tolerances for concrete work shall be in accordance with ACI 117. <br /> <br />B. Contractor shall employ construction techniques to provide the following <br />tolerances: <br /> <br /> Overall Local Minimum <br />FF FL FF FL <br />1. Interior Slabs on Ground 25 17 20 15 <br /> <br />C. Contractor shall set forms consistent with and is solely responsible for meeting <br />requirements of F-numbers specified above. <br /> <br />D. Testing: <br /> <br />1. Floor tolerances will be tested by an independent testing agency paid for by <br />Owner. Testing will be performed under provisions of Division 01. <br /> <br />2. Contractor shall conduct its own F-number tests within 24 hours of placing <br />each slab section to determine adequacy of placing operations. <br /> <br />3. All tests performed shall conform to ASTM E1155. Equipment to be used for <br />testing shall be dipstick and the Profileograph. <br /> <br />E. All floors not conforming to these requirements shall be corrected by <br />replacement or other methods approved by Engineer/Architect. <br /> <br />3.10 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br /> <br />A. Testing and analysis of concrete shall be performed under provisions of <br />Division 01. <br /> <br />B. Testing firm will cast test cylinders and perform slump and air entrainment tests <br />in accordance with ACI 301. Testing firm shall be paid by Contractor. <br /> <br />C. Three concrete test cylinders shall be cast from each increment of 100 cubic yards <br />of each class of concrete placed each day or from each placement of each class if <br />less than 100 cubic yards. <br />
