<br />THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />PROJECT NO. 21-1011 <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT RELOCATION TO ANNEX <br /> <br /> <br />Project No. 21-1011 November 2024 033500 Concrete Finishing-1 <br />SECTION 033500 <br />CONCRETE FINISHING <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br /> <br />1.1 SUMMARY <br /> <br />A. Work in this section applies to the mechanical polishing of concrete surfaces. <br /> <br />B. Provide all equipment, materials, labor and services necessary to provide and complete <br />the scope of work associated with a mechanically polished interior concrete floor surface <br />as indicated on drawings and as specified herein. <br /> <br />C. Related work specified elsewhere: <br /> <br />1. Section 03 30 00 – Cast-in-place Concrete. <br /> <br />1.2 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Submittal Package: Prior to commencement of work submit all product data sheets for <br />concrete densifiers/hardeners, grinding equipment, vacuum systems, joint fillers, <br />diamond tooling and all related materials and products to be used and <br />/ or applied. <br /> <br />B. Installation contractor’s qualification history and similar projects, references for similar <br />completed projects, data on size, equipment used and date of completion for each <br />reference project, provide copy of industry recognized certifications. <br /> <br />C. Manufacturer’s Certification – Provide a letter of certification from product <br />manufacturer(s) stating that the installer is a certified applicator and is familiar with <br />the proper procedures, surface preparations and installation requirements <br />recommended by the manufacturer(s). <br /> <br />D. Samples: Prior to commencement of work, coordinate with the Design/Build contractor <br />the preparation and finishing of a sample panel mock-up. The sample panel should be <br />at least 20 feet by 20 feet. The finished sample mock-up shall be reviewed for quality <br />and acceptability by the Owner and Architect. See 1.06 Mock-Up. <br /> <br />E. Contract Closeout Submittals: Provide 2 copies of the recommended cleaning and <br />maintenance instructions for the installed floor system to the Owner’s <br />Representative. <br /> <br />1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> <br />A. Installer Qualifications: Installer shall be an established company regularly engaged in <br />the installation of mechanically polished concrete floor system with a minimum of five <br />(5) years’ experience. Contractor shall furnish documentation regarding the successful <br />completion of at least 5 projects of similar magnitude and complexity. <br /> <br />B. Single Source Responsibility: All required materials and installation personnel to be <br />provided by the installing contractor. <br /> <br />
