Exterior & Interior Concrete Foundation Walls: One coat application <br /> <br />2. Exterior Concrete Flatwork: One coat application <br /> <br />3. Interior Concrete Floor Slabs: Two coat application <br />PART 3 – EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.1 INSPECTION <br /> <br />A. Verify substrate conditions under provisions of Division 1 - General <br />Requirements. <br /> <br />B. Verify that substrate surfaces are ready to be cured. <br /> <br />3.2 CURING AND PROTECTION <br /> <br />A. General: Protect freshly placed concrete from premature drying and excessive <br />cold or hot temperatures. Comply with ACI 306.1 for cold-weather protection <br />and ACI 305.1 for hot-weather protection during curing. <br /> <br />B. Evaporation Retarder: Apply evaporation retarder to unformed concrete <br />surfaces if hot, dry, or windy conditions cause moisture loss approaching 0.2 <br />lb./sq. ft./hour before and during finishing operations. Apply according to <br />manufacturer's written instructions after placing, screeding, and bull floating <br />or darbying concrete, but before float finishing. <br /> <br />C. Formed Surfaces: Cure formed concrete surfaces, including underside of <br />beams, supported slabs, and other similar surfaces. If forms remain during <br />curing period, moist cure after loosening forms. If removing forms before end <br />of curing period, continue curing for the remainder of the curing period. <br /> <br />D. Unformed Surfaces: Begin curing immediately after finishing concrete. Cure <br />unformed surfaces, including floors and slabs, concrete floor toppings, and <br />other surfaces.
