Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary <br />Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br /> <br />1.2 SUMMARY <br /> <br />A. This Section includes the following: <br /> <br />1. Ceiling joist framing. <br /> <br />1.3 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />A. Structural Performance: Provide cold-formed metal framing capable of withstanding design <br />loads within limits and under conditions indicated. <br /> <br />1. Design Loads: As indicated on plans. <br /> <br />a. Dead Loads: Weights of materials and construction and as indicated on <br />plans. <br />b. Live Loads: As indicated on plans. <br />c. Wind Loads: As indicated on plans. <br /> <br />2. Deflection Limits: Design framing systems to withstand design loads without <br />deflections greater than the following: <br /> <br />a. Ceiling Joist Framing: Vertical deflection of 1/240 of the span. <br /> <br />3. Design framing systems to provide for movement of framing members without <br />damage or overstressing, sheathing failure, connection failure, undue strain on <br />fasteners and anchors, or other detrimental effects when subject to a maximum <br />ambient temperature change of 120 deg F. <br /> <br />4. Design framing system to maintain clearances at openings, to allow for <br />construction tolerances, and to accommodate live load deflection of primary <br />building structure as follows: <br /> <br />a. Upward and downward movement of 3/4 inch. <br /> <br />B. Cold-Formed Steel Framing, General: Design according to AISI's "Standard for Cold- <br />Formed Steel Framing - General Provisions." <br /> <br />1.4 ACTION SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Product Data: For each type of cold-formed metal framing product and accessory <br />indicated. <br />
